Tell us a little about the volunteer (brief bio -student/profession, location in Iowa, etc.):
Raegan is 13 years old. She has been aiding in disaster relief efforts all across the United States since the age of six. She supports our homeless veterans in Iowa for the past six years providing them a Christmas each year and supports them throughout the year. She is the founder of Raegans Relief Efforts, located in Keystone Iowa.
What is the primary (one or two) organization(s) they serve?
Raegan founded Raegan’s Relief Efforts in 2011 when she was just six years old, as she was trying to make a difference by raising money for the victims of the devastating tornadoes that have hit our county.
Since then, Raegan has over 1700 people following her on her Facebook page, and is busy collecting food, clothing, toys, and much more for people all across Iowa and beyond.

Why does this volunteer deserve to be recognized with a 50 Faces of Volunteers spotlight?
She recently has been recognized nationally representing the US Cellular Future of Good program winning a $10,000 donation; she was featured on the Steve Harvey Show 2017 winning a $5,000 donation; recognized last November at the Nickelodeon Halo Awards (here’s her video) with a $20,000 donation and a $10,000 scholarship; received the “9 Who Care Award” from KCRG Channel 9 in Cedar Rapids and $500 that she added towards her scholarship program (more below on this); and has received many awards from the American Legion Auxiliary, among others in an impressive list.
Raegan was in New York twice being honored for her great work. She spent time at the New York Stock Exchange and was honored to be apart of the ringing of the closing the bell. She was also featured on the weather channel as a weather hero, winning viewers choice and receiving $5,000 to start a scholarship program. For the past six years, Raegan gives out a scholarship every year to a senior in her school Benton Community – The Raegan Lynn Junge Scholarship (and she’s not even in high school herself yet!).
I am her mother, and recently went through surgery battling breast cancer. She has helped to care for me and taken care of all household responsibilities and chores. I am proud of her and all she stands for!! She is a true inspiration and Iowan!!
